Frugal Friday thoughts

I have to say I have no real nuggets of truth this week.  I couldn’t think of anything new that we are doing.  No new pantry tricks, no new How to warm the cold house news, Unschooling/library news…nothing.  The only real thing we have done this week is : STAY HOME.

I haven’t used the $20 allotted for gas money.  We’ve read a ton.  Granted my oldest at home has been alittle under the weather.  We invited a family for tea (before the sickness!!)  We did go to town yesterday, 15 minutes away & a quick visit to the library.  Living in a rural town one must think before hopping into the car!!  I haven’t the luxury of running to town for a pepper, or a bit of milk, or even a pizza!!

Staying home certainly isn’t a brillant concept, but it’s a frugal, natural way of being way before we had tele’s and cars.

What would the kiddos do if we couldn’t get to homeschool gym??  How would be deal with a new suit that must be bought?  And I can certainly attest that the cats in the house would have an uprising if we didn’t provide a bowl of store bought food on a daily basis!!!

Thoughts of Frugalness/ Livng Simply:  Stay Home!!  Need some more thoughts?  Have a glance at Biblical Womanhood!!

Shalom!

Amen – we don’t spend half much money as we used to just by staying home. Being out and about all the time – there is gas, food, items, and more you slowly get sucked into paying for!

    Shalom,

Hey Kelly! I can’t agree more – the girls and I usually never go out during the day. When it’s spring and summer, we’ll walk to the development clubhouse to hang out or to the playground, but that’s it. It’s funny, because I was always itching to get out and go places when we lived in a teeny town but now that we live in suburbia with everything 5 minutes away I’m content to be in the house all day long, LOL. We homemakers take so much time in making our house a home, a wonderful and efficient and God-blessed place to be, so being in it should be enjoyable for us. I’m glad I learned this lesson, LOL! Great post…and so fun about the tea!

    Have a great week, mama!
